Your protagonist is one of the rare people who has suddenly remembered their past lives, and go on a quest to resolve unfinished business. Messing with those can give you zombies and undead, but also read minds, divine past lives, control the body, etc. In this world, instead of necromancy being the evil scary magic, they have animancy, which is more strictly dealing with souls, which are supposed to go through a wheel of reincarnation. Your health will recover after a fight, but it might be lower than maximum, plus some debilitating injuries, until you actually make camp and rest, recovering all your health and spell slots. And he can cast, say four 1st-level, two 2nd-level, and one 3rd-level spell, from any of those spells prepared. But he can only prepare up to four per spell level. As far as some mechanics go, your wizard, for example, has a spellbook that contains all the spells he's memorized. There are fighters, paladins, wizards, priests, etc, plus a new class called a cipher, someone who deals with mind powers to attack and manipulate people. There are some muskets and cannons, but also swords, armor, and magic wands. There are gods, but they're not all walking around like the Forgotten Realms, so you can be agnostic. I can see how a lot of the mechanics and spells are much like D&D, but they're all slightly different since it is not strictly a Dungeons and Dragons game or world. Lots of interesting characters to recruit, they have banter and individual quests, and at the end of the game you can see how you've affected them through completing their quests or not, and what choices you made. It's very good, the same style isometric, party-based, D&D-like experience as Baldur's Gate. Looking for other players? Try the LFG Discord channel.Interested in contributing?
